Vieve Tan Modern Bronzer Duo Review & Swatches

Tan

Vieve Tan Modern Bronzer Duo ($43.00 for 0.64 oz.) includes a darker, warmer hue on one side and a slightly lighter, more muted bronzing hue on the other side (almost more in the vein of a contour powder, though still quite warm-toned overall). The powders performed decently, but the left shade wasn’t as blendable as ideal for a face powder.

Tan (Left)

Tan (Left) is a medium brown with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. It seemed less satin-like than other shades in the range. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that felt drier to the touch with some thinness, which made it more prone to sticking to skin initially and not wanting to diffuse and blend out. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to offer a “foolproof” formula with a “finely milled, soft-satin finish.” The brand said that a “little goes a long way,” and the pigmentation was more intense, as marketed. The textures were soft, smooth, and a little drier (not quite powdery but not silky to the touch).

The bronzers applied fairly evenly to bare skin, blended out without too much effort, and did seem to sit on my skin better than the blush range (which this is supposed to be modeled after!). I think that they can look a little powdery when layered over more matte foundation, though, and are not the most seamless applied on my skin–something about the bronzer powder was a little heavy in look once applied and blended out.

The majority of shades lasted between seven and eight hours on me.

Tan (Right)

Tan (Right) is a more muted, medium brown with moderate, reddish undertones and a matte finish. It had rich color coverage paired with a soft, somewhat powdery texture that was a touch dry but seemed to apply and blend out without issue. It lasted nicely for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.
