Women-Owned Small Businesses to Shop for Home Decor

Today is International Women’s Day, and while we love to recognize talented women in design all year round, we figure what better way to celebrate the holiday than shopping female-led and founded design brands? After all, women in the United States still only earn roughly 84% the wages of their male counterparts, on average. If you’re in the market to shop for your home, though, there’s no shortage of women-owned businesses to peruse. Click through for some of our perennial favorites.

Fete Home

A destination for tabletop pieces, textiles, and decorative accents, Fete Home was founded by Audrey Margarite and Jen Potter, two home and design industry veterans who love to entertain.


The Black Home

Neffi Walker founded The Black Home in her native Newark in 2021. The shop offers up furniture, decor, plants, and more—many from female and Black-owned businesses. Even better, the brick-and-mortar shop is a destination complete with its own coffee shop.


Brooke & Lou

Designer Bria Hammel founded Brooke & Lou as a destination for chic home goods that strike a balance between modern and classic.



Interior design fans are already likely familiar with Jungalow, the home brand that grew out of Justina Blakeney’s blog of the same name.


Cailini Coastal

Meg Young founded Cailini Coastal in 2020, earmarking a portion of sales to support families facing homelessness. The brand offers a chic selection of coastal-inspired home decor, from serving bowls to lamps.


The Nopo

Kelly Breakstone Roth and Shanny Harel May founded this digital marketplace to spotlight the work of makers around the world. Offerings range from woven baskets to table linens, lampshades, and tabletop decor.


Society Social

What started as a small purveyor of bar carts has grown into a full on home brand, with Society Social founder Roxy Te producing everything from furniture to lamps to even wallpaper.
